Summary
This was a great week of training, capped off by a nice race at the end. The 7-milers were fairly easy and slow, as usual, and the Tai Kai seminar was a lot of fun as well. On Saturday, we overnighted in the village of Lysos to take part in the Sun! Lysos Run! race, which was a great time. The 25km race wandered through abandoned villages, farm land, and all types of terrain while providing some incredibly scenic views as well as some business for a small mountain village.
I’m now happily in taper-mode as I wind down the mileage toward the race on May 13. According to my plan, I have just 34 miles left until the race itself, which is quite motivating. While I do certainly enjoy the journey of training, I’ve now been at it for several months and am eager to get my first 50k race under my belt.
In other news, the Two Castles Mountain Ultra organizers have announced that this will be the last year of the race! In order to pursue other projects and opportunities, they will not be running this race again, and so if anyone is on the fence about signing up, this is your last opportunity to do so! Don’t delay, sign up here!
