Long Run
This weekend was the long-awaited Akamas 50k race! All went to plan and it was a great event. Spoiler alert: I didn’t come close to the podium. Instead, I took it nice and easy to avoid any risk of injury and enjoyed the views. There was a great turnout and the course was fantastic. More to come in my race report!

This week I announced my upcoming Unsupported FKT Attempt of the Beşparmak Trail in Northern Cyprus! All of those “scouting” trips I’ve been doing over the last few weeks have been for this as I searched out potential camping spots and watering holes. Check out the post for more information about the attempt, the trail, my motivation, and schedule!

Summary
This was a great taper week ending with an awesome race – my last one for quite some time as I hit the AT in under 2 months. From now until then, I will shift my training to focus more on backpacking with weight that will simulate the load I will carry on the trail. The best simulation for this will be my FKT attempt in a couple of weeks, which I am very much looking forward to.
Until next week!
