Two Castles 50k Training – Week 7

Week 7: February 6 – February 12, 2017

Week 7 of my 50k Ultra Training is complete, and below is my summary for the week.

  • Monday: 
    • AM: 5mi hike in Acadia National Park (home!)
    • PM: OFF
  • Tuesday:
    • AM: OFF
    • PM: 1.5-hr martial arts class
  • Wednesday:
    • AM: OFF
    • PM: Weights – Legs & Biceps
  • Thursday:
    • AM: OFF
    • PM: 1.5-hr martial arts class
  • Friday:
    • AM:  1 hour run on treadmill (random setting, level 10/20)
    • PM: Weights – Chest & Triceps
  • Saturday: 
    • AM: 3-hr martial arts class
    • PM: OFF
  • Sunday: 

Total mileage: ~25mi + lots of cardio!

Summary

I spent half the week in Maine and then made my way back to Washington on Tuesday. Whenever I’m back in the area, I train with my martial arts group whenever possible and got in 3 great sessions this week. Because of my schedule I wasn’t able to get much lifting or running in during the week, but I had a great long run on Sunday on the Potomac Heritage Trail, which I never knew existed despite having lived in the area for several years!

Weights

Only a couple of sessions this week, but I felt good. I’ll head back to the CrossFit gym in Washington for a few days next week to work on my compound lifts.
