The 2nd Annual Fall Trail Rally was a blast! 🍂🚵‍♂️ The 2nd Annual Fall Trail Rally was a blast! 🍂🚵‍♂️🏃‍♂️

This year, we really wanted to make it feel more like a grassroots trail party than a race weekend: a chance to slow things down, hang out, and enjoy the trails together.

More than 30 people joined us over two days to ride bikes, run, eat together, and explore two different trail systems in the Katahdin region, with an awesome raffle to cap it all off.

Thanks to everyone who came out and helped make the weekend such a good one!
Back at the Megunticook 50K for the third time and Back at the Megunticook 50K for the third time and my first since 2022.

This course is every bit as hard as I remembered: plenty of climbing, technical trail, and some great views mixed in. Fun to come back a few years later and see that the work has paid off.

Finished with a 32-minute PR from my last time here. I’ll take it! ⛰️🌲🏃‍♂️

VO₂ max test in NYC last week. Scored a 62.9 (99th VO₂ max test in NYC last week. Scored a 62.9 (99th percentile for my age), up from 56 last year.

I’ve always liked having objective ways to measure fitness beyond race times and how I feel day to day. VO₂ max isn’t everything, but it’s a useful snapshot of aerobic fitness—and one of the things I’m hoping to maintain as long as possible.

Mostly just happy to see that the running, biking, hiking, and generally spending a lot of time outside seem to be working.

Also, running to exhaustion while breathing through this thing is about as enjoyable as it looks.
